Mount Rushmore, Day 2

We went back to Mount Rushmore before leaving South Dakota. It was a very pretty view during the daytime, too! We had a great time running around and sitting on the wall at the viewing point. We met a very nice man with 12 children who took this picture of our family:

We met many nice people on our trip! We were stopped lots of times by people who wanted to talk to us children and who told us how nice it was to see a big family.

After we left Mount Rushmore, we drove by the Crazy Horse Memorial. They are still working on it, but it is going to be huge!

  1. Sherrod, Great picture of you and your family at Mount Rushmore! How very nice of that gentelman to take a family picture. Goodness, those faces are BIG! Do you know the completion date for the Crazy Horse Memoral? May be you will go back when it is completed. Your "new" dresses look very pretty
in the picture(s). So glad they got done in time for the trip. Hope you enjoyed your vacation trip. It appears you were able to see & do a lot of things. Did your animals miss you? I bet they did. Thank you for sharing.
    Sincerely,

Thanks so much for the lovely pictures & commentary. I remember going to the Corn Palace, Black Hills, & Mr. Rushomore in 1966 with your Great Grandparents Leo & Rosaleen O, and your Great Uncle Leo, Jr. They were taking donations for Crazy Horse back then. We went all the way to California. We visited with your Aunt Sharon & your other great grandparents (A). Love to all.
