This post is so difficult to write because Pappaw meant so much to all of us. I think the last I posted he had had a stroke and was recovering in the nursing home. He was in the nursing home for about 4 months before he passed away. Yet even with all the pain he was in and having dementia, he shared Christ with everyone he met. It was so much fun to go to the nursing home and see him and sing for him. Some of the memories I think we will always have about Pappaw are his Donald Duck talk, he ALWAYS had ice cream in the freezer when we came to visit, the way we would surprise him when we came to visit and found him napping, the stories he read to us, he loved us all so much all the way from me down to Knox, he was always so glad to see us, and he loved to talk about God with us. Often when we were at his house he would recite Scripture, read the Bible, or we would take turns praying for someone. Pappaw was a very influential man in leading Mommy to Christ. He really loved the Lord and the joy of the Lord always showed through his great big smile. We miss him so very much, but we are glad he is in a place of no more pain, no more sorrow, where he can be with Jesus and Mammaw forever. His legacy of love for Christ and his memory will forever live on.
