Water Slide!!!

Yesterday we had A LOT of fun with our blow up water slide!!! We experimented with different ways of sliding (notice me somewhat in the air)! Elly even enjoyed sliding this year, but Selah preferred playing in the pool at the bottom. William was napping and Mommy kept Wallace in the cool air with her, but next time she's going to let William give it a try!

Just in case you're wondering, the younger 4 girls are wearing swimsuits that we bought about 6 or 7 years ago from Little Touch of Elegance. The company no longer makes them. Abby and I are wearing swim dresses that we got last year from http://www.wholesomewear.com/. We REALLY like our swim dresses. They are so comfortable and we don't worry about modesty when swimming. Mommy has one, too!

All I can say is "What Fun!!" The slide is so colorful, it looks so inviting! Thats what we need here in Arizona! I think your swim dresses look wonderful. What a great idea!
Any news on the garden? I know you have been very busy.
Wishing eveyone the very best - enjoy your slide.
    Sincerely,

  2. The garden has been fairly easy this year, since we mostly planted different types of berries and they all need some time to mature. We planted them in containers, too, so there's really no weeding. We check them for watering in the late morning and Daddy waters them in the late afternoon. We occasionally go out and pick off any blooms or early berries that we see so they don't grow into a full berry. This will help the branches get strong to hold great big berries in the future! We did plant some tomatoes and cauliflower in the ground. I think we're about ready to pick some tomatoes! They are looking good!

Thank you for the up date on the garden. Please let me know about the tomatoes. Home grown toatoes are the best! They taste so much better than a "store" tomato.

  4. WOW- I have not been able to check the blog for a few days and wow, I had so much to catch up on!!! First off- YEA Wallace! It is nice to see him taking his first steps and it is great to see how strong he is.

The picture of you all with your Pawpa is a great picture. Everyone looks so happy. I think it is one of the best group pictures you have put up so far.

AND.. that slide looks pretty crazy. Wow, it is like an amusement park in your own yard. That is a fun way to cool off. So, what is the difference between a swim dress and a dress?

  5. Aunt Sunny & Uncle Ben,
It was so nice to hear from you!
The difference between a dress and a swim dress is mostly the material. While dresses are made of cotton, polyester, or something similar, a swim dress is made out of two layers. The bottom layer (the flower sleeves you see) is a full bodysuit with pants that go to the knees. It is made out of a nylon/lycra blend, much like a swimsuit. The black overlay (the dress) is specially designed to not stick to you (the way a t-shirt does) when you are wet. It is made of nylon. When you swim in regular clothes, not only do they stick to you, but they feel heavy and weigh you down. A swim dress is lightweight and not heavy at all when it is wet.
Also, I think swim dresses are a lot more expensive than most dresses!
    Love you!
    Love,
    Sarah
