Our Baby Shower

Last Sunday our church held a baby shower for our newest blessing. We were finally able to tell Daddy what the gender is! For those of you who do not know, we are having another boy!
We had a lot of fun with Daddy! He told us girls that we could tell him the gender of the baby on the way to church, so we told him we were having a girl! Boy, was he surprised when he opened up the baby quilt that we made and saw a blue quilt with Calvin's name on it!

One of the young men made this neat plaque for Calvin. It is a picture of John Calvin and has our Calvin's name on it (we will explain the name later when he is born).

Here is a picture of the shower table. We did not make a dessert this time, since Mommy is having so much trouble with her blood sugars and having to be so careful about what she eats. Some dear friends made her a low-carb cheesecake and low-carb chocolate chip cookies to bring home. She has been very glad to have some sweets! The cheesecake is gone, but she still has cookies to munch on!

We are so thankful to all of you who attended and helped with the shower! You are truly a blessing to our family!

We are also very excited about the upcoming birthday of Calvin Valor! Only a few weeks left!

Elly's 1st Sewing Project

Elly always loves to watch us older girls sew and has long been wanting to join in. She got a beginning sewing project for her birthday and was finally able to use it last week.
Here she is doing her stitching:

Here Sydnee is helping her stuff her projects:

Here are the finished projects:

She had a great time sewing and was so proud of herself! Great job, Elly!

Happy Birthday, Sarah!

The birthday girl with her banner:

Saturday we celebrated Sarah's 14th birthday! Grammy and Papa came up to help us celebrate.

The birthday prayer:

We were finally able to have cake and ice cream. Sarah wanted a cake that had a green pasture with a creek running through it that said, "He leadeth me beside still waters," from Psalms 23.

Some of the birthday gifts:

We had a wonderful time. Happy 14th Birthday Sarah!

Happy 1st Birthday, Wallace!

Wallace Jude
"Industrious man of peace, praised and full of love"

Yesterday we celebrated Wallace's 1st birthday. He had so much fun! He never could quite figure out how to open the presents, but he was very fascinated with the candle flame. He tried to touch it several times, but Mommy kept it too far in front of him for him to reach.

We have quite a bit of illness in our home right now (everybody but Daddy, Mommy, and me) so we were unable to enjoy cake and ice cream, but Wallace enjoyed eating his whole wheat blueberry muffin and had no idea that he was missing out on anything!

Wallace definitely lives up to his name: industrious and full of love. He is always doing something: helping re-organize the cabinet, putting toys away, pushing big brother in the car, or making sure the dogs are getting plenty of exercise. He is overflowing with love. He goes around kissing everything. It is so sweet.

Wallace's dedication ceremony:

On everybody's first birthday, Daddy does a special dedication ceremony, dedicating them to the Lord. Although our parents truly dedicate us to the Lord from the day of our birth, usually the day we are born is too tiring or hectic to do an actual ceremony so Daddy decided it would be good to do on the first birthday.

Opening presents:

Wallace loves the picnic table Daddy & Mommy got him. Selah really likes it too. This morning she said,"Mommy, can Elly, William, Wallace, and I eat breakfast at Wallace's new table?"

We all had a great time celebrating Wallace's first birthday!
