A Long, Scary Week

It's been pretty busy around here! My great-grandfather, Pappaw was hospitalized with a stroke near the end of February. Mommy has been going up every day to visit him and taking a couple of girls up to visit as well. Last Wednesday when Mommy was visiting Pappaw, she received a call from Daddy saying his face and hand were numb and he couldn’t get his hand to do what he wanted it to do. Mommy called the doctor and ended up taking Daddy to the ER. It turns out, Daddy had a minor stroke! We have all been very concerned for him! The doctors sent him home Thursday evening with medication and told him to exercise and change his diet. He is doing great and appears to have no lasting effects from the stroke, although the doctors said if he has another one, he will likely not be so fortunate.
Right now, we are praising God that things were not worse and that we are all back together again. It was hard on everyone, but especially the boys, not having Daddy and Mommy here. We were thankful to have Catherine come stay with us to help take the load off of us older girls!

Our church family and neighbors have been so kind, helpful, and thoughtful! Everyone has been so helpful to us and to Daddy, bringing meals over, building fence, changing oil, and seeing if there is anything they can do to help. Thank you all so much! Your friendship is a blessing we treasure!

  2. I was very surprised by your posting regarding your Daddy. I am also very re-leaved to hear your Daddy is feeling well. I am happy to hear your family received so much help from so many.
I will keep your Daddy in my prayers.
