Daddy turned 50 in February! Mommy planned a surprise party for him, with the help of us girls. We were looking into joining a homeschool group, so we told Daddy we needed to try one out and were going to a homeschool meeting. He was completely surprised!

Mommy gave Daddy this anchor picture because a few weeks prior they were talking about security. Mommy told him how thankful she is that he has been a tower of strength and an "anchor" for our family, always keeping us on a steady course and following Christ. He has never been one to change with the modern times, but keeps his heart and mind on Christ, the Solid Rock and keeps our path straight and true.
A few days later, at home, the boys gave Daddy some chicken supplies and Rhode Island Red chicks. Each of the 4 younger girls got a chick, too. This turned out to be a strange present, as Daddy has had to put in a lot of work to have the field and chicken coop ready!
I thought this picture that Abby sketched for Daddy was really neat. It is of his dog, Oxy. Didn't she do a great job? It's her first pencil sketch!
I like this picture of Daddy and Mommy. They have a lot of fun together!
