Happy Birthday, Wallace!

Wallace is 2! We chose “Toy Story” for his theme because, even though he has never seen the movie, he loves Bullseye, Buzz Lightyear, and Woody. It is amazing how reading captures the imagination of even a very young child and becomes a part of who they are. One day while waiting in a doctor’s office, Abby read a Toy Story book to him and he fell in love with those three characters! Abby and Mommy completely out did themselves with the banner, cake, and decorations.

“Look! Booh-yaheye, Rarah!”

Yummy, cake!

Fun with gifts

Wallace loves his Buzz t-shirt from Grammy and Papa:

Here is our currently family funny:
Wallace has been working on potty training and he’s nearly there, so Mommy thought it would be a good idea to give him a family potty seat for his birthday. When Daddy and us girls found out what she was planning, we were incredulous! Even though she asked what we thought at different times, we all said the same thing: “What! You can’t give him a toilet seat for his birthday!” Poor Mommy! We all gave her such a hard time and she was just being a frugal Proverbs 31 woman, fulfilling needs as well as desires. The funny thing is: Wallace absolutely loves it and is very proud of it! Mommy got it out about a week before his birthday, but he still refers to it as “his potty.” Okay, so it probably would have been a great gift!

However, Daddy and Mommy got him a workbench instead! It, too, was a hit!

Here’s the photo shoot I did for Wallace’s birthday:

As a side note, here is a picture of Daddy, Mommy, Calvin, and Papa talking at Wallace’s birthday party. Do you notice anything? I won’t make you wait…Mommy cut a foot and a half off of her hair!

  1. Happy Birthday Wallace! It looks like you had a great party, the cake and decorations were wonderful. And the guest of honor seemed to be all smiles! Job well done everyone! Wallace's photo shot is beautiful. The pictures are becoming more and more creative and expressive.
I think I would have gone along with Mommy regarding the potty seat....pretty good idea. But you know "mommy's" do think differently. How "brave" of your Mommy to cut her so much!! Does it feel "lighter" to her now? Did her hair get more "bounce" to it? Mommy does have beautiful hair. Fun and informative posting, thank you.
    Sincerely,
    Jill
