I don't know why she swallowed the fly...

Mommy told us all she could remember of this silly poem, then one day she found the book, so she bought it. Selah always wanted us to read it to her, but now she has memorized it (well, pretty close)!

  1. That is really cute! When Carissa was around that age, she memorized a little book once too.

    We are enjoying your blog!

  2. Job well done Selah. I can see why you like that poem so much! Today it is raining in Arizona. But it is not very cold. I put my potted plants out in the rain to get fresh rain water...I hope they like it. Our growing season is the winter time. The summer is too hot unless "you" are a cactus! I love to go to the nursery at Home Depot early in the morning (Sat.) and just walk around and look at the plants. Some times I find one or two that I buy. I have to put my plants in pots on the patio because the rabbits eat them. Those silly rabbits eat everything! I keep trying to grow tomato plants but I have never been successful. It gets too hot by June and they stop growing. So now is the time to plant them if I want to try again. Do you have a garden or flowering plants that you can pick?
Flowers in bloom always make me happy. The Lord has given us so many beautiful things through nature. I spoke with Grandma Andrews yesterday and she is going well. She always makes me laugh. I also spoke to Aunt Chris in Texas. She was busy in her store so the conversation was short. Oh, Grandma Andrews said Oklahoma had not had a "hard" snow yet.
Are you having a "mild" winter? Have you had any ice storms yet. Let me know what you are doing and if you have any ideas on how I can get a tomato plant to grow, please share your ideas with me. I think I will start a fire in the fireplace, the kitties love it and so do I.
I hope this is not too long. Your blog is very informative and once again Selah did a wonderful job "reading" her favorite poem.

  3. Ah- so cute! Uncle Ben remembers this story. There were a few pieces of the poem that I didn't quite get, but he told me about it after we watched the video.

    Good job Selah.

  4. Aunt Sunny,

We all love for Mommy to sing funny songs and poems to us. What kinds of things did your mother do with you when you were little?

We love you and miss you!

  5. Hi Ladies! When I was little we used to read the books 'Where the Sidewalk Ends' and 'Horton Hears the Whos' at my house, but my very favorite was Clifford the Big Red Dog. There was a silly song my mom used to sing when she would fix my hair-- it had something to do with flying purple people eaters. Kinda funny.

I love you guys and miss you too!
